Located in the Impact Hub in Baltimore MD, MIRA (Meaningful Information and Research Articulation) is a community member, activist and organizer for technical education building.

MIRA was started by a DAF-MIT Fellow and Georgetown Artist Resident, Sara Voigt, and is a small start-up growing towards developing a hybrid talent base of self-taught and academically trained artists. The MIRA model is to train artists to communicate mathematical and scientific concepts and train scientists to animate these very same concepts creatively to increase dual-perspective and hybrid minded technological literacy pieces for the public.

WHY BALTIMORE?

With academic vehicles such as Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland, and the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore is home to a lush, vibrant ecosystem teeming with multidisciplinary talent and diverse perspectives. Within its academic and arts districts, MIRA creates a space in Baltimore for the academic and the artistic where expression meets scientific research.

The Baltimore community is also uniquely committed to social building, economic parity, and upholding and supporting independent critical thinking. This makes Baltimore a rich habitat to cultivate bright and inquisitive technical communicators to question society and develop new ideas.
